City Light

As it dances
against the windows
for one more day
the sun hanging
in the sky
clouds move
from its rays
from the morning glow
to the evening breeze
it stands in the sky
the city gleems
with a light that
laughs back
at the sun
sidewalks awake
with white
streets filled
by the shiniest black
I stand watching
from the stoop
of my apartment
awoken from another night
to the most brilliant day
the day the sun
again promises
to never set
and the light
lasts forever.
